About Sugarland
A Unique Garden Estate
Sugarland is a unique garden estate over 150 years old, hosting beautiful weddings, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, family reunions and welcoming guests year round into their charming farmhouse and cottage. The farmhouse can sleep up to 10 guests comfortably.
The main house is a fully restored 1850’s colonial revival farmhouse tastefully decorated with primitive antiques. The two-story house exemplifies Wisconsin character inside and out. The hardwood plank floors are accented with both antique and updated furniture and décor. Porches on both sides of the home reveal many breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. This house is the perfect place for bridal party preparation, wedding party photography or accommodations for the bridal party and family. There are mirrors in every room including a full length three-way mirror for the bride.
The Cottage
The cottage located by the old mill site and stream is designed with the groomsman in mind. Featuring a flat screen TV, casual porch and fully stocked kitchen it is a great place for the guys to relax beforehand. So when called upon, they will be refreshed and ready to go. The cottage can sleep up to 8 guests comfortably.
The Wedding Oak Tree
The centerpiece of the day is the majestic oak tree. The Wedding Oak Tree of Sugarland is over 150 years old and stands in the center of the estate. It is by far the most popular ceremony site for our couples. Imagine exchanging your vows beneath the leafy canopy of this ancient oak tree with the picturesque backdrop of the surrounding bluffs and cornfields. All the while your guests are shaded by the branches of this majestic oak.
The Barn
The 4000-square foot Barn completes the picture with its open-air feel and beautiful reception space accommodating up to 300 guests. Grand sliding barn doors contribute to the rustic character of the space as well as serving as the ideal backdrop for the wedding party. Open the doors to the bucolic view of the Wisconsin countryside. The barn provides all the modern amenities you need for a successful event while retaining its rustic appeal: licensed commercial kitchen, custom bar made from barn floor planks and beautifully appointed air conditioned modern bathrooms. Wood floors tied in with exposed rafters and romantic custom made wrought iron chandeliers on dimmers compliment any style. The front patio is a great gathering space for cocktail hour and later in the evening, roasting marshmallows around the fire pit. For a more rustic gathering we have a larger campfire in the back. And don’t worry we provide the fire wood.

What Sets Us Apart
Exclusively Yours
Although we have a variety of packages to choose from our most popular is our Exclusive Weekend Package. This secures the entire property for your group for Friday and Saturday and mid Sunday. The Barn is available on Friday for set up and decorating allowing you to focus on enjoying the day of your wedding. Grounds available for rehearsal on Friday and Ceremony on Saturday anytime you chose. You can even have a cook out Friday evening for your rehearsal dinner or use one of the private rooms free of charge at The Old Feed Mill Restaurant five miles down the road. Tables and chairs will be available if you chose to have the rehearsal dinner on site.
The house sleeps up to 10 guests and cottage sleeps up to 8 guests, and are available to you both Friday and Saturday night.
Outdoor and Indoor Ceremony Areas
We have two outdoor ceremony areas as well as an indoor area providing a flexible rain plan.
Accommodates 18 guests on site
Both farm house and cottage are available for lodging for your family and friends. Accommodates 18 guests comfortably!
No Noise or Time Restrictions
Whether you chose the exclusive weekend or not the Barn and property are entirely yours on the day of the event allowing you to choose when the event starts up until 12 midnight.
Complimentary Tastings for the Bride and Groom
Before your event Nancy will meet with you for a private food and wine tasting. At this time we also talk about all the details for your special day.
Coordinator Included
From your first tour to your special day, Nancy, our wedding coordinator will be there to work with you every step of the way. She and her top-notch staff have been creating magical weddings for over 20 years.
We take care of the setup, take down and clean up
We help set everything up and clean up at the end of the evening.
State Approved Authentic Wisconsin Barn
What sets us apart from some other Barns are that we are a state approved facility meeting all state construction and public safety requirements and can accommodate up to 300 guests. This includes code compliant fire alarms and emergency exits. We are also completely handicap accessible with well-equipped air conditioned indoor bathrooms.
Tables, chairs, linens, dishware and glassware
No need to look elsewhere for all the essentials for the reception. We have floor length linens and napkins for reception (color options available), tables, chairs, vintage or plain china, and glassware all on site.
